Casos prováveis de chikungunya passam dos 13 mil em Minas Gerais

In 2017, to date, there have been 13,342 probable cases of chikungunya recorded in Minas Gerais, of which 74 are linked to pregnant women. According to the local health authorities, this number represents an increase of over 4,373% over the same period last year. Eleven suspicious deaths are being investigated. The number of probable dengue cases in Minas Gerais is 22,793, according to the local health secretary

Chikungunya bate recorde em Minas

The number of chikungunya cases in the state of Minas Gerais has broken all previous records and the numbers are multiplying each week. So far there are almost 10,000 cases recorded of people who have fallen victim to the disease. In 2016 Minas Gerais saw 503 probable cases of Zika, a year earlier, there were 31 and in 2014 there were only 18. So far, there have been 9,986 cases this year

Febre Amarela: 2422 casos suspeitos e 623 confirmados

Brazil is experiencing the largest outbreak of yellow fever for decades with most of the focus on the states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo which have the highest number of confirmed cases. Up to April 12th there were 2,422 suspected cases. Of these 623 were confirmed, 671 remained under investigation and 1,126 were dismissed. Of the total cases reported 326 died. The case fatality rate among confirmed cases is running at about 1-in-3

Yellow fever continues to advance in southeastern Brazil

An outbreak of yellow fever continues to advance across Brazil’s south-eastern region, with Rio de Janeiro state announcing the sixth yellow fever case in the state earlier this week. It was recorded in the town of Sao Fidelis and is the first case of yellow fever in the state not in the town of Casimiro de Abreu

Yellow fever spreads in Brazil

The number of cases of yellow fever surpassed 400 in Brazil, as the disease spread to the state of Rio de Janeiro, the third most populated and the most touristic area.
